Welcome to the Packers News Report.

As the NFL Scouting Combine rolls on, we’re beginning to learn more and more about not only the draft, but free agency too.

ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reported that the Green Bay Packers are interested in signing tight end Austin Hooper.

But a player they might not be able to afford to re-sign is Blake Martinez. According to Tom Silverstein and Jim Owczarski of PackersNews.com, Martinez wants at least $10 million a year. The report also notes that Green Bay is considering making a move for linebacker Joe Schobert.

The negotiating period of free agency begins in just over two weeks and it’s going to be interesting to see how GM Brian Gutekunst uses the limited cap room available to address the team’s needs.
