Bryan Bulaga

So close to free agency, it’s not going to be easy to re-sign Bryan Bulaga.

There also doesn’t seem to be a sense of urgency from the Packers. According to Jason Wilde of The Athletic, the Packers are yet to reach out to Bulaga’s agent. Compare that to Mason Crosby, who has already signed a new three-year contract way ahead of free agency beginning.

Perhaps the Packers don’t think they’ll be able to meet Bulaga’s demands. Spotrac’s estimate has Bulaga’s market value over $10 million a year, which would make him one of the highest-paid right tackles in the league.

If the Packers are yet to open talks about a possible new deal, will they ever? The moment the “legal tampering window” opens on March 16, it’s hard to imagine Bulaga’s agent not receiving multiple calls from around the league. There’s always a demand for starting tackles and Bulaga is up there with the best of them.

The Packers offense is better with Bulaga than without him, and replacing him would be no easy task for Brian Gutekunst. But here we are, less than two weeks away from the excitement of free agency kicking off and, for now, it looks like Bulaga could be moving on.

Prediction: Walks
