Rounds 2 – 3

Round 2 (62): CB Jaylon Johnson – Utah

Height: 6-foot

Weight: 193 lbs

40-yard dash: 4.50 (57th percentile)

Player comparison: Isaiah Oliver

RAS: 7.77

I know cornerback may not be the biggest need right now, but you can’t have too many good players in the secondary. Tramon Williams hasn’t been re-signed (yet), and Kevin King, who has been inconsistent this far, is on the last year of his deal.

I think grabbing a player like Jaylon Johnson would be setting the Packers’ defense up for the future. He may not be as big as King, but he is a physical corner. The Draft Network also gave him a player comparison of Vontae Davis. He is flexible, so the Packers would be able to move him around if needed. Adding more depth to the secondary is never a bad thing.

Round 3 (94): OT Ben Bartch – St. John

Height: 6-foot-6

Weight: 308 lbs

Player comparison: N/A

RAS: N/A

Bartch is a DIII prospect coming out of St. John’s in Minnesota. He’s played offensive line just two seasons, but he has caught on extremely fast. Even though he came from a small school, he performed well at the Senior Bowl. He didn’t participate in the NFL Combine, so his measurements aren’t available.

He is going to be a guy the Packers can groom in a backup role for a year or two behind newly signed tackle Rick Wagner. He is very raw, but with NFL coaching and strength training, he has the potential to be a solid starting tackle in the next few years.
