Packers seven-round mock draft: Green Bay adds receiver early
Round 7
Round 7 (236): WR Joe Reed – Virginia
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 215 lbs
40-yard dash: 4.47 (74th percentile)
Player comparison: N/A
RAS: 9.31
Here is a gadget player for the Packers. Joe Reed is pure speed. He is a weapon when the ball is in his hands and can make a lot of things happen, which is why he would be a threat in the return game as well. I see Reed having a similar role to Tyler Ervin, but with the ability to catch passes downfield. He would be a weapon on coverage teams too. I think Reed would be able to find a nice role in Matt LaFleur’s offense quickly.
Round 7 (242): OL Jon Runyan – Michigan
Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 306 lbs
40-yard dash: 5.08 (81st percentile)
Player comparison: JC Tretter
RAS: 8.46
Jon Runyan Jr. is the son of former All-Pro offensive lineman Jon Runyan. He is a smart football player, but his technique is a little sloppy, something that can be fixed. He played tackle at Michigan but would likely play inside in the NFL. He would have the ability to play both guard and wing tackle if needed. That would give the Packers a little more flexibility on the line should they need it. Runyan has an NFL pedigree, and taking a chance on him in the seventh round seems like a low-cost investment.
