Indianapolis Colts

The Colts traded away their 13th overall pick to the San Fransisco 49ers for DeForest Buckner. But, the team does have two second-round picks including the second pick in the second round.

The Colts also acquired veteran quarterback Philip Rivers on a one-year deal to lead the team in 2020. The team did not feel Jacoby Brissett was the guy for the future and could also be looking for more in the NFL draft.

One player who seems to be moving up teams’ boards and could fit right here as a target could be Jordan Love. The quarterback out of Utah State has the athleticism and arm strength teams are looking for so it should be no surprise he’s getting first-round talk.

The Colts could look to get aggressive and enter the back end of the first round to acquire their signal-caller of the future. If so, the Packers are in prime position.

In this instance, think of Lamar Jackson and the Ravens of two years ago. No one expected Baltimore to jump back into the first round to get Jackson. But that’s just what the Ravens did to ensure they got their guy ahead of other QB-needy teams.

If the Packers (30 overall, 620 points) were to move back with the Colts, that trade could net them Indy’s second-round pick (34 overall, 550 points) as well as an extra fourth-round pick (122 overall, 50 points) according to Pro-Football Reference’s trade value chart.

Would Indy want to lose an extra pick just to move up? There’s no way of knowing for sure, but with two second-rounders and a receiver-rich draft, Indy has the room to be aggressive and move up should they want to snag their guy and still get a talented player with their other second-round pick.
