Round 2 (40): Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU

One potential option for the Packers is to trade out of the first round. They’d need to find a team willing to move up for that to happen, but the Houston Texans could be a candidate. The Texans have seven picks in total to work with but zero in the first round. Not only would moving into the first round give them a chance to land a player at a position of need, but they’d also get the benefit of the fifth-year option.

From a Packers’ perspective, they are able to bring in an additional third-round pick. With a need at wide receiver, they can safely move down 10 positions and still draft an excellent player.

Using Drafttek’s trade value chart, the Packers’ picks would total 640.2 points, while the Texans’ would total 640 points, making it a fair trade for both sides.

At No. 40 overall, many top wide receiver prospects were still on the board including Brandon Aiyuk, Laviska Shenault, and K.J. Hamler. It wasn’t an easy decision, but I went with TCU’s Jalen Reagor.

Reagor is fast, explosive and an excellent deep threat.

Anthony Treash of Pro Football Focus wrote about Reagor’s ability to make explosive plays:

"“Over the past two years, Reagor generated an explosive play of 15-plus yards on 51.6% of his catches — the second-highest rate in college football and nearly 20 percentage points above the FBS average.”"

Reagor would be a great addition to Green Bay’s offense.

By trading down, adding an extra third-round pick and still getting Reagor at No. 40 overall would be a huge win for the Packers.
