Round 5 (175): Kamal Martin, ILB, Minnesota

One of the Packers’ biggest needs ahead of the draft was inside linebacker, and they’ve added more depth with Minnesota’s Kamal Martin. Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network had high praise for the selection, writing that Martin is a “true run and chase linebacker who gives it his all and plays with a violent attitude”.

Grade: B

Round 6 (192): Jon Runyan, OL, Michigan

Jon Runyan has played at multiple positions along the offensive line, but many analysts believe he’ll best fit at guard in the NFL. He’ll provide some depth along the line, which was important to add in this year’s draft.

Grade: B

Round 6 (208): Jake Hanson, C, Oregon

It’s possible that the Packers have one eye on the future with Corey Linsley entering the final year on his contract. Jake Hanson will add competition to the offensive line in 2020.

Grade: C

Round 6 (209): Simon Stepaniak, OT, Indiana

It’s a good move to stock up on depth along the offensive line. While he’s listed as a tackle, his best role might be at guard.

Grade: C

Round 7 (236): Vernon Scott, S, TCU

With Ibraheim Campbell still a free agent, it makes sense to add some depth and competition at safety.

Grade: C

Round 7 (242): Jonathan Garvin, DE, Miami

The Packers needed to add some pass-rushing depth, and they got just that with Jonathan Garvin. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein wrote that “there might be gold to mine if a coach can get it out of him”. He could provide some nice depth behind the Smith Bros. and Rashan Gary.
