In many ways, the return of Equanimeous St. Brown will feel like a new signing for the Packers.

Throughout all of the problems the Packers had at receiver last season, they were missing St. Brown, who was on injured reserve all year after suffering an injury in the summer. Now, along with the addition of Funchess in free agency, the Packers get St. Brown back in 2020.

St. Brown absolutely could’ve helped the Packers last season. His ability at picking up yards after the catch should make him a good fit in Matt LaFleur’s system and he also showed he can make tough catches in his rookie season.

While Green Bay didn’t make many big moves at the wide receiver position this offseason, there will be competition for snaps and spots on the depth chart. And that’s never a bad thing. Along with St. Brown and Funchess, there will be competition with Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Jake Kumerow.

Of the Packers’ three draft picks at wide receiver back in 2018, St. Brown has the potential to be the best, despite being selected later than J’Mon Moore and MVS.

What role will he have in LaFleur’s offense? We’ll get an idea at training camp.
