5. Allen Lazard – WR

If the Packers want to re-sign Allen Lazard, they’ll have every chance to do so. He’ll be an exclusive rights free agent next offseason, giving the Packers the opportunity to bring him back.

The Packers didn’t add a wide receiver in this year’s draft and there’s a good chance they’ll still need some help at the position next offseason. But Lazard has the potential to build on last season and become a consistent number two wide receiver in Matt LaFleur’s offense.

One of the Packers’ biggest surprises last season, Lazard made an impact with 477 receiving yards and three touchdowns. According to Pro Football Focus, Lazard had their fourth-highest grade in the NFL when targeted in single coverage last season. Only Kansas City’s Mecole Hardman and Tyreek Hill, and Tampa Bay’s Chris Godwin earned higher grades.

Lazard will have every opportunity to establish himself as the number two receiver this summer, even with the Packers’ free-agent addition of Devin Funchess.

As an exclusive rights free agent, re-signing Lazard would be an affordable, low-risk move for the Packers. And considering how important a role he is likely to play on offense this season, re-signing him next offseason should be an easy decision.
