1. Davante Adams has multiple touchdown catches again

Last week against the Vikings, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense looked in control all afternoon. Rodgers threw four touchdown passes, with his number one target being superstar wide receiver Davante Adams, who tied a franchise record for receptions in a game with 14.

Up against Minnesota’s inexperienced cornerbacks, Adams was too good. Constantly wide open, Rodgers had no problem finding his number one target over and over again. From his 14 catches, Adams finished the opener with 156 yards and two touchdowns.

It’s probably not a good time for the Lions to be dealing with injuries at the cornerback position. Slot corner Justin Coleman has already been ruled out after being placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. First-round pick Jeff Okudah has also been dealing with a hamstring injury which kept him out of the Lions’ season opener.

Free-agent signing Desmond Trufant, another starter for the Lions at cornerback, exited Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears with, you guessed it, a hamstring injury.

It’s perhaps no coincidence that after the Lions were hit with injuries in the secondary, they let a 23-6 lead at the start of the fourth quarter slip to a 27-23 defeat. Detroit had kept Mitch Trubisky quiet for most of the game, but Trubisky threw three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.

It remains to be seen whether Okudah or Trufant will return this week, but even if they play, they are both coming back from hamstring injuries. It’s not a good week to come up against Davante Adams, who could be set for another dominant performance.
