Stock up: Allen Lazard

No Davante Adams? No problem. Okay, well maybe that’s not 100 percent true, but Allen Lazard showed on Sunday night that he is a very capable number two receiver. It was clear that he was Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target with Adams being out.

Lazard put up some nice numbers. He caught 6-of-8 targets for 146 yards and a touchdown. With Adams missing the game, Lazard is now the team leader in receiving yards with 254 and tied for touchdowns with two. He caught a couple of big passes, including a 72-yard bomb in the third quarter.

The stats are very telling of how comfortable Rodgers is with Lazard compared to other receivers. After Lazard’s six catches, the next closest wide receiver to him was Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who had one catch for five yards.

Green Bay will host the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. They have had an atrocious defense so far this year, giving up massive yardage through the air, allowing over 350 yards per game. They have given up the second-most passing yards in the league, behind the Seattle Seahawks.

The Falcons will also be without one of their top cornerbacks. Should the Packers play it safe with Davante and keep him out one more week, look for Lazard to have another big game against Atlanta.

Also, just wanted to add this in here, for the fans who like the analytics.
