Packers got exposed against the Buccaneers

Dud #3: The offensive line

The Green Bay Packers have one of the better offensive lines in the league, they have a really solid starting five, and have depth behind them. Unfortunately, on Sunday they flat out couldn’t handle that Buccaneers pass rush.

Coming into this game I thought this was going to be a tough test for the Packers. The Buccaneers defense was no joke and they ate up this Packers O-line, getting five total sacks and 13 QB hits. Green Bay also lost David Bakhtiari in this game which was a major blow for this team.

I don’t think this performance should be an indictment on the Packers line as a whole. However, it is concerning that they seem to get beat by teams that have good pass rushers. The Chargers and 49ers games from last year are evidence of this.

Jason Pierre-Paul and Lavonte David really had some phenomenal games, both getting 1.5 sacks each, while David got an additional 2.5 TFLs and two QB hits. One positive to take from this is that star LT David Bakhtiari’s injury seems to not be too serious.

Again I wouldn’t be too concerned about this O-line moving forward but it absolutely will need to improve on some things.
