Packers: Four winners from Week 7 win against the Texans
By Cody Young
Winner #1: Jamaal Williams
Jamaal Williams played great in the absence of star running back Aaron Jones. The two RBs were drafted together in 2017 and have been one of the best one-two punches in the league since last season.
Williams is one of the most underrated players in the entire Green Bay team. He isn’t the most flashy runner in the league but he is a very hard runner who always seems to keep his legs churning.
Jamaal played great and showed why he can easily be a starter on another team next year. The fourth-year back had 23 total touches, over 100 yards, and a rushing touchdown.
This was a career-game for Williams and it was nice to see him featured so heavily in this offense with Jones being held out. The impact that Jamaal makes on any given game is something that can’t always be measured with a number.
He’s a very good pass blocker and a pretty underrated pass catcher, which was one of his issues coming into the pros. With his production over the last two years, Williams is going to get offered a decently big contract from another team, and might end up as the starter.
I would love Williams to take a team-friendly deal to stay with Green Bay but with them drafting A.J. Dillon and possibly re-signing Jones, only time will tell.
