2. Robert Tonyan

Stat Line: 5 catches, 79 yards

This is solely based off of Robert Tonyan‘s day as a pass catcher. His blocking left a lot to be desired. He either whiffed too often or didn’t give enough effort, allowing Minnesota defenders to make tackles on run plays that could have gone for bigger gains.

With that said, Tonyan’s breakout season as a pass-catching tight end for the offense continues.

Tonyan was wide open for a 45-yard catch that could have gone for much more if he didn’t have to dive to make the catch.

He ran right by the Vikings defenders and laid out to make the catch that was slightly overthrown. On the play, both of the Vikings defenders jumped towards Davante Adams, leaving no one there to cover for Tonyan running right through the middle of the defense.

Tonyan also made a difficult catch on the sideline as the Packers were driving in the final minute of the game in a possession that ended the game with Rodgers’ fumble.

Tonyan is developing into a pretty good pass-catching tight end. He still has a lot of work to do with his blocking but that is something that can be taught and will just require a little more effort for Tonyan.

It’s been three games without a touchdown for Tonyan but he’s making the most of his opportunities and turning into a nice complementary player for the Packers.
