Week 11: at Indianapolis Colts

On paper, this doesn’t look like a good matchup for the Packers.

Like the Buccaneers defense did, the Indianapolis Colts will test the offensive line all game long. The Packers will need David Bakhtiari back for this one.

Indianapolis is allowing the second-fewest yards per game entering this weekend, while also ranking fifth in the league in scoring defense.

However, there is some good signs that this won’t be a repeat of the Bucs game. For starters, the Colts’ pass rush hasn’t been as strong as the Bucs’. They have 18 sacks this season, good for 14th in the NFL. That’s OK, but their defense ranks just 21st in ESPN’s pass rush win rate metric.

The other good sign is that while the Colts have plenty of yards through the air on offense, Philip Rivers only has 10 touchdown passes with six interceptions in seven games. Their rushing offense has been underwhelming, ranking 25th in the league.

Here’s the concern: Indianapolis’ defense is talented. Even if not as strong as Tampa Bay’s, it ranks second against the run and it will be tough to put up points in this game.

And while the Colts haven’t run the ball particularly well this season, against this Packers defense, why do I feel like Jonathan Taylor has a breakout performance?

Prediction: Indianapolis 27, Green Bay 20 (7-3)
