Packers: Three winners from the NFC divisional round
By Cody Young
For the second year in a row, the Green Bay Packers are heading to the NFC Championship. For the first time in Aaron Rodgers’ career, the team will be hosting an NFC title game in Green Bay.
It’s unfortunate that the stadium won’t be packed but the Packers will surely still feel comfortable playing in their home stadium. Green Bay played great once again in the divisional round and is really looking like a team that is Super Bowl-bound.
Aaron Rodgers had another great game on Saturday. Matt LaFleur showed why his scheme works and why he is one of the best coaches in the league.
I feel like in past years this was a game that Green Bay would’ve lost. They have a history of struggling against great defenses but the offense was phenomenal against the Los Angeles Rams.
So let’s go ahead and look at three players who I felt played great during Saturday’s game.
Aaron Jones makes big plays for Packers
Winner #3: Aaron Jones
Aaron Jones was a beast on Saturday and is really making his case for a big contract in 2021, whether it’s from Green Bay or another them, the man definitely deserves one.
The Packers’ rushing attack as a whole was fantastic in this game, averaging 5.2 YPC. Jones had a 7.1 average with 99 yards, 14 carries, and a touchdown.
The role that Jones plays in this offense is so much more than your traditional running back, he’s a great receiver as well and his pass-blocking has improved this season. Only time will tell if Jones will be on the Packers for much longer but we should all enjoy it while we still have it.
