Round 4

player. 144. . T. BYU. BradyChristensen. 861.

The Packers will have to play some musical chairs on the offensive line at the start of the season. David Bakhtiari will likely miss the start of the season with the knee injury he suffered late last year. I’m assuming the group they will start the season with is already on the team, but that won’t leave them with a ton of depth, especially after letting Rick Wagner go.

Christensen is a lineman who played left tackle in college but may be more suited to right tackle or even guard in the NFL. He has some versatility, which is something the Packers value. They’ve had success in the past with offensive linemen in middle rounds. Christensen could be the future at right tackle once Turner’s contract is up.

Round 5

DL. West Virginia. 174. 877. . . DariusStills. player

The interior defensive line is a soft spot for the Packers. Even after the 49ers shredded them in the 2020 NFC Championship, the Packers didn’t do much to fix the problem. “Snacks” Harrison fell into their laps at the end of last season, but now he is no longer on the team. The Packers need to address the defensive line position.

Signing J.J. Watt would certainly help but in case of the likely scenario that Watt does not come to Green Bay, the Packers will probably look to draft some depth for the defensive line.

Darius Stills is a guy who is often available in the middle-to-late rounds of mock drafts. He is a guy who will likely play the 3-technique, but in a 3-4 defense, I could see him maybe playing some defensive end where he can get some penetration and rush the passer.

He may not be the biggest threat in run defense, but I think he could be more effective in the pass rush than Tyler Lancaster could be.

888. . Edge. Virginia. 184. player. . CharlesSnowden

With the Packers potentially cutting Preston Smith loose to free up cap space, edge rushers are something they will need to add. Edge is one of the most important positions to have depth on the defensive side of the ball.

Charles Snowden is exactly who the Packers should be looking at. He would fit a 3-4 defense and is a developmental guy. Right now, they are set with Za’Darius Smith and Rashan Gary, but that would allow Snowden to get his feet wet and give him some time before he has to contribute. The last pick in the fifth round is a great time to take a chance on a player.
