As a fan, it’s always fun to imagine star players from other teams lining up for the Green Bay Packers.

A year ago, Lombardi Ave’s Jesse Fry picked one player from each of the Packers’ NFC North rivals that he would “steal”. It was a fun exercise and it’s always interesting to hear different opinions on topics like this one.

He had Green Bay “stealing” inside linebacker Roquan Smith from the Chicago Bears, wide receiver Kenny Golladay from the Detroit Lions, and tight end Kyle Rudolph from the Minnesota Vikings.

Twelve months on and Golladay is no longer playing for the Lions and Rudolph has left the Vikings after a great career in Minnesota. So I thought it would be fun to make the picks again. Not only have all three of the Packers’ division rivals made roster moves since then, but a lot else has also changed.

The Packers have different areas of need than they did then. Also, some players have taken a big step forward, while others had disappointing 2020 seasons.

As the Packers make their preparations for the 2021 season, which gets underway in three months, I’m going to help out general manager Brian Gutekunst by “stealing” three star players from the team’s NFC North rivals.
