Zero-of-seven. That’s the Packers’ third-down conversion rate while Aaron Rodgers was in the game. It’s not easy to move the chains and sustain drives with no success on the money down.

The Packers’ only third-down conversion came from Jordan Love when the game was already over. In total, Green Bay finished 1-10 on third down.

According to Team Rankings, the Packers led the league in third-down conversions a year ago, being successful on just over half of their attempts. They were the only team to convert over 50 percent of their third-down attempts.

Sunday’s loss was nowhere near that, and the Packers enter Week 2 with the league’s worst third-down conversion rate.

It also meant the Packers went for it on fourth down three times (once with Love, which he converted). They were successful on the first attempt, but turned it over on downs on their own 22-yard line late in the third quarter while it was a three-score game.

It goes without saying that to have success on offense, you need to be able to regularly move the chains on third down. The Packers were strong in this area a year ago, but were unable to convert a single third down while Rodgers was on the field in Week 1.
