Packers 2022 mock draft featuring Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams trades
Packers’ picks and needs after trades
So now that we’ve cleared up the two trades, where does that leave the Packers entering the 2022 NFL Draft? They would now have three picks in the first round and three in the second round, including six selections in the top-64. Get most of them right and the rebuild can be a quick one.
Here are the Packers’ updated draft picks in the opening three rounds of this mock draft following the two fantasy trades:
- Round 1 (9)
- Round 1 (22)
- Round 1 (28)
- Round 2 (42)
- Round 2 (60)
- Round 2 (64)
- Round 3 (92)
Sure feels like we’re playing Madden, doesn’t it?
Take out Rodgers and Adams, and what would be the Packers’ biggest needs? It’s not a strong quarterback class and Jordan Love would likely be the starter, at least for 2022.
Wide receiver would be a need for the Packers, although less so if they retain Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in free agency.
Inside linebacker would be a need if De’Vondre Campbell isn’t re-signed. Edge rusher if Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith are released. Offensive line depth is another need. As would be defensive tackle.
But with this being the start of a rebuild, I approached this mock draft just searching for the best players possible. Add as many building blocks for the next five years.
So here we go.
Note: To help with this mock draft, I used Pro Football Focus’ mock draft simulator. That doesn’t include the trades, which I had to do manually.
