Aaron Rodgers trade from Packers to Broncos

By the far the most likely landing spot seems to be Denver, should Rodgers request a trade. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Rodgers has been torn between the Packers and Broncos.

It’s easy to understand why the Broncos would interest Rodgers. Denver already has a talented roster. This offseason, it hired former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to be head coach, a move Rodgers would surely love. Hackett’s offense would be a familiar one. The Broncos also have almost $40 million in cap space, per Spotrac.

According to Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network, Denver is “willing to give up a ton of picks” in a Rodgers trade. And why not? The Broncos won a Super Bowl going all-in with Peyton Manning. Maybe they could do it again with Rodgers.

In this trade scenario, the Packers indeed get plenty of draft picks including a pair of first-rounders, one being the ninth overall selection this spring. Add in a second-rounder in 2022 and a third-rounder in 2023, along with talented young wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.

Rodgers may not like the fact one of his new targets in Denver is traded to Green Bay, but the Broncos would still have a solid supporting cast and with plenty of cap room to sign one of the top free agents like Allen Robinson, or Amari Cooper, if he’s cut.

Of all the scenarios, a Broncos trade would make the most sense for everyone. A good landing spot for Rodgers as they have a talented roster with cap room to make moves, plus he would be reunited with Hackett. They also have the draft resources and young players to make a strong offer to the Packers.
