4 former Packers who still need a team for the 2022 season
Bryan Bulaga, T
Will Bryan Bulaga find a new team in 2022 or is this the end for the Super Bowl-winning right tackle?
The Los Angeles Chargers released Bulaga this week. He joined the team in 2020 after spending a decade with the Packers.
Bulaga was an outstanding right tackle for the Packers at his best and fully healthy. He was part of some great offenses such as the 2014 team, and he was also a Super Bowl champion in his rookie year. Bulaga started 12 games that season.
Unfortunately, Bulaga has battled injuries throughout his career and that continued with the Chargers. The veteran tackle played in just 11 games across two seasons, including only one in 2021.
Re-signing Bulaga would seem a long shot for the Packers despite needing more depth along the offensive line after releasing Billy Turner. One has to wonder whether, after a successful 12-year career, Bulaga will decide to retire.
If he does decide to keep playing, a cheap one-year deal as a backup could make sense, but I don’t see that happening with the Packers. Bulaga is an excellent player when healthy, but availability has been an issue in recent years.
Of all the former Packers looking for new teams in 2022, who would you most like to see return next season?
