Packers 53-man roster predictions following 2022 NFL Draft
Running backs (4)
Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Kylin Hill, Tyler Goodson
With Davante Adams gone, Green Bay will need to lean on its running game more than ever.
The Packers don’t get enough credit for their rushing attack. In 2021, they ran the ball 41.39 percent of the time, ranking 16th in the NFL, according to Team Rankings. Matt LaFleur’s offense has been well balanced.
More of that will be required in 2022.
Fortunately, Green Bay is loaded at the running back position.
Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon both had over 1,000 yards from scrimmage last term, forming one of the strongest 1-2 punches in the league. Both Jones and Dillon are capable of leading the backfield when needed.
The Packers will have high hopes for Kylin Hill, who impressed in the preseason a year ago. He is returning from a torn ACL, so it’s unclear if he will be ready for Week 1 or start the season on the PUP list.
Green Bay signed undrafted free agent Tyler Goodson, who rushed for over 1,000 yards at Iowa last season and is also a talented pass catcher. He will provide some strong competition for the RB3 spot.
It wouldn’t be surprising if the Packers enter the season with extra depth and keep four.
