Packers 2022 schedule release: Game-by-game, final record predictions
Week 18: Detroit Lions
Piece by piece, the Detroit Lions are adding talent to their roster and building the right way.
While the Lions still need to find their long-term starting quarterback, Jared Goff has plenty of help. He will be protected by one of the league’s top offensive lines and now gets a receiving corps including Jameson Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and T.J. Hockenson.
The Lions will continue to struggle defensively, even after adding edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson in the draft.
Detroit ranked No. 31 in scoring defense last season. While the team has made some good additions in the offseason, they are still a way off in the NFC North.
The Packers have dominated the rivalry with the Lions at Lambeau Field.
Detroit did win in back-to-back years in 2017 and ’18, but before that, it had only won at Green Bay once since 1991.
Under Matt LaFleur, the Packers have won all three games against the Lions at Lambeau Field.
While the Lions could be an improved team this season, it will be difficult for them to come to Lambeau and win.
With a strong offensive line and receiving corps, Detroit could move the ball even against a talented Green Bay defense. However, can the Lions hold up defensively against the Packers? I’m not so sure.
Prediction: Green Bay 32, Detroit 24 (12-5)
