Five former Green Bay Packers players who might not play another snap in the NFL.

While most of the roster building has been done around the NFL this offseason via free agency and the draft, there are still many players looking for teams. That includes some former Green Bay Packers players.

Some of those players are waiting for the right opportunity to come up and will be playing in the 2022 season.

There are other players who could be done in the NFL.

Let’s look at five former Packers, both draft picks and free-agent signings, who might not play another NFL snap.

Jason Spriggs, T

The Packers traded up to select Jason Spriggs in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Green Bay hoped Spriggs could eventually develop into a starting tackle. That never happened.

Spriggs played in 36 games for the Packers over three seasons but only started nine of them. He didn’t look comfortable at tackle and was waived in 2019.

He would go on to sign with the Chicago Bears in 2020, where he was active for eight games but made zero starts. Spriggs then signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2021. He was active for 15 games and made one start, but again was a backup.

Spriggs is still only 28 years old, but he has been unable to stick with a team in the NFL. He struggled during his time in Green Bay and now remains a free agent.

If he signs with a new team, it would be his third in as many years.
