2. Romeo Doubs puts up 1,000 yards receiving
Rookie wide receiver Romeo Doubs has been one of the stars of the summer so far. It’s one impressive play after the other for the fourth-round pick.
And it hasn’t gone unnoticed by Aaron Rodgers.
AR12 on Romeo Doubs: “Every single day … there’s been at least one kind of ‘wow’ play for him, and that’s kind of rare for a young guy like that. Now we’ve had some guys over the years kind of do that, but they’re all in the top 10, I think, in the Packers’ receiving history.”

To receive that praise already from Rodgers says a lot.
The four-time MVP usually tends to play down expectations for young players. And for good reason. It takes time to adjust to the NFL and to build a connection with Rodgers.
But it’s tough to ignore Doubs’ impressive start to training camp.
And Doubs isn’t just making plays against backup cornerbacks. He is doing it regularly against the first-team defense, including Eric Stokes.
Packers just did 25 1-on-1s between WRs/TEs and CBs/safeties with Rodgers and Love throwing. Will have notes on each in today’s story, but highlight came on 25th rep. Romeo Doubs burned Eric Stokes down the right sideline for a TD from Rodgers. Stokes slammed his helmet after.

Allen Lazard will enter the 2022 season as the Packers’ WR1. He may remain Rodgers’ top target all season.
But don’t count out Doubs becoming a major contributor for this offense immediately.
It’s still early days, yes, but Doubs has been so impressive this summer. If he continues to make plays on the practice field, it will only be a matter of time before he’s a starter in every game.
We’ve seen breakout rookie seasons from Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase in recent years. Perhaps Doubs will become the next rookie receiver to hit 1,000 yards.
