Tight ends (3)

Marcedes Lewis, Josiah Deguara, Dominique Dafney

PUP: Robert Tonyan

Only keeping three tight ends isn’t ideal. Hopefully Robert Tonyan will be cleared to return from injury before Week 1.

Tyler Davis didn’t help his chances of making the 53 last Friday night. He struggled as a blocker before dropping a simple catch that led to an interception.

After a quiet training camp from Davis so far, he needs to turn things around in the second preseason game next week.

Offensive linemen (9)

Yosh Nijman, Jon Runyan, Josh Myers, Jake Hanson, Royce Newman, Zach Tom, Sean Rhyan, Cole Van Lanen, Caleb Jones

PUP: David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins

Will David Bakhtiari be back for the season opener? Your guess is as good as mine. For now, he remains on the PUP list, so missing the start of the season has to be considered.

The good news is that Green Bay’s offensive line held up well in the preseason opener. There were solid performances across the board.

Credit to Jake Hanson. After struggling to get many offensive snaps in his first two seasons, a shift from center to guard seems to be working well. A solid preseason opener will help his chances of making the roster.

The eventual return of Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins will help. For now, the Packers could be set to begin the season with a relatively inexperienced offensive line.
