Running backs (3)

Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Tyler Goodson

PUP: Kylin Hill

At this stage, it would be a shock if Tyler Goodson doesn’t make the 53-man roster. He has impressed all summer and put in another good preseason performance on Friday night. Goodson rushed for 42 yards from 10 carries, while adding a 10-yard catch.

It’s unclear when Kylin Hill will be cleared to return from injury. He will provide some depth when he returns.

Wide receivers (8)

Allen Lazard, Romeo Doubs, Randall Cobb, Sammy Watkins, Christian Watson, Amari Rodgers, Samori Toure, Juwann Winfree

I know, I know. Eight wide receivers? It’s difficult trying to predict who could get cut. Let’s first list the roster locks: Allen Lazard, Romeo Doubs, Randall Cobb, and Christian Watson.

You could maybe include Sammy Watkins, but I still don’t believe that’s a guarantee.

Amari Rodgers had a disappointing performance against the Saints, which won’t help his chances. Samori Toure has played well at training camp, while Juwann Winfree has been excellent. Winfree also received high praise from Aaron Rodgers.

The Packers will need to keep their best 53 players, and that may include eight receivers. The competition remains wide open. The final preseason game could go a long way to determining which receivers make the 53-man roster.
