Defensive linemen (6)

Kenny Clark, Jarran Reed, Dean Lowry, T.J. Slaton, Devonte Wyatt, Jack Heflin

The only question here is whether the Packers keep five or six defensive linemen. After an impressive summer, Jack Heflin earns his spot on the 53.

Heflin has played well throughout the preseason, and his tackle for loss was one of the plays of the game versus the Kansas City Chiefs.

Devonte Wyatt has had a quiet summer, but he can develop as a backup in his first season.

Outside linebackers (4)

Rashan Gary, Preston Smith, Kingsley Enagbare, Jonathan Garvin

I’d like to keep a fifth edge rusher, but finding room wasn’t easy. The top three are roster locks, while Jonathan Garvin just gets the edge over La’Darius Hamilton, Kobe Jones, and Tipa Galeai, but it could go either way.

One possibility would be the Packers bringing a player like Jones back to the practice squad, then promoting them later on. If Dallin Leavitt goes on injured reserve, a roster spot would be opened up.

Inside linebackers (4)

De’Vondre Campbell, Quay Walker, Krys Barnes, Isaiah McDuffie

No concerns here. The top four are set.

The Packers have great depth at inside linebacker. Isaiah McDuffie looks to have made the second-year jump and will be a key contributor on special teams.
