Week 10, 2014: Packers 55, Bears 14

One of the most lopsided games in the Aaron Rodgers era. The now-four-time MVP was simply unstoppable, throwing six touchdown passes in the first half. He had already tied Matt Flynn’s franchise record for touchdown passes in a game, but Rodgers had achieved this in half the time.

Midway through the third quarter, Rodgers was pulled from the game as the win was already in the bag.

In one of the most dominant two quarters of football you’ll ever see, Rodgers threw six touchdowns to five different receivers, while the Bears were shut out. Green Bay went into halftime with an astounding 42-0 lead.

Who knows what score it could’ve been had Rodgers played the entire game?

The Packers’ defense dominated. They made four sacks and forced three turnovers, one an 82-yard pick-six by cornerback Casey Hayward.

The defense also only allowed seven points — Chicago’s other touchdown came on a 101-yard kickoff return.

Mike McCarthy understandably pulled Rodgers out of the game at 45-0. The Bears were never coming back from that.

But from a fan’s perspective, how fun would’ve it been for the Packers to run up the score on their rivals? Had Rodgers stayed in the game and the Packers continued to attack, who knows how it may have ended? Maybe 100-0 was on the cards…
