Aaron Rodgers doesn’t look like Aaron Rodgers

To be fair to Aaron Rodgers, he had little help this week. Throwing with an injured thumb, the reigning MVP needed some protection from his offensive line. Not only did he get none of that, but he also wasn’t helped out much by his supporting cast.

Despite that, Rodgers has been nowhere near his MVP best in recent weeks. He was inaccurate far too often against the Jets, missing throws you would expect Rodgers to make look easy.

Maybe the injury impacted his game. Perhaps the pressure in his face forced mistakes.

Both can be true, but Rodgers also needs to play better. Last week in London, there were plenty of missed opportunities where Rodgers either didn’t throw to an open receiver or missed the throw.

The blame needs to be shared across the offense. Some falls on the offensive line, some on the receivers, and some on Matt LaFleur. But Rodgers also needs to take a share of the blame as he hasn’t been close to his best.

All of the above results in one of the worst stretches for a Packers offense with Rodgers starting at QB.

Six weeks into the season, the Packers are left with a lot of work to do on offense.
