5 massive questions Packers must answer in the offseason
4. Will the Packers draft a quarterback?
The way this season is going, the Packers could end up with their first top-10 draft pick since 2009. With games to come against the Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings, a premium draft pick is entirely possible.
Would the Packers consider drafting a quarterback? It may sound crazy, but why not?
Rodgers won’t be playing for much longer. Even if he plays in 2023, retirement is just around the corner for the four-time MVP.
If the Packers don’t believe Jordan Love is their future QB1, then next year’s draft could be the ideal time to search for Rodgers’ successor.
Again, the Packers will have a far clearer picture of Love’s future than us. They see him day in, day out on the practice field. If they see something in him, he’ll likely get a shot at replacing Rodgers in the next year or two. If not, then anything is possible.
Until Green Bay’s quarterback situation is sorted, it’s a valid question to ask. Should Green Bay draft a quarterback next year? Will they?
If Rodgers plays in 2023, it lowers the possibility. If he retires, it’s entirely possible. It will be a fascinating few months in Green Bay leading up to the draft.
