Still have hope the Green Bay Packers can make the postseason?

FiveThirtyEight gives the Packers a three percent chance of making the playoffs. That number could drop to zero in the next couple of weeks unless Green Bay starts winning and gets some help.

It goes without saying that the Packers need to win, probably every game, but they also need other results to go their way.

If you haven’t given up hope, here are three teams to root for in Week 13:

New York Giants (vs. Washington Commanders)

The New York Giants winning doesn’t exactly help the Packers, but one of these teams needs to win as a tie wouldn’t do much good, either.

Washington is currently the seventh seed. Green Bay likely needs to target the seventh spot, so the Commanders need to lose multiple games.

If the Packers win and the Commanders lose, Green Bay would move to 5-8, Washington 7-6.

A little closer.

Los Angeles Rams (vs. Seattle Seahawks)

The Seattle Seahawks are no longer in a playoff spot, but they are one of (many) teams the Packers need to overtake.

Surprisingly, the Los Angeles Rams are one of the few teams struggling more than Green Bay this season. Los Angeles is 3-8 on the season and effectively out of playoff contention.

The Seahawks would fall to 6-6 with a loss this week. Green Bay needs Seattle to lose some games. This week would be a good time to start.

Jacksonville Jaguars (at Detroit Lions)

Yes, it’s got so bad that Green Bay needs the Detroit Lions to lose.

This isn’t as urgent as the two teams meet later in the season, and the Lions are only slightly ahead with a 4-7 record compared to the Packers’ 4-8.

But Detroit plays an AFC team, so it would be the perfect week for a loss.
