3 Packers free agents who could follow Aaron Rodgers to new team
1. Randall Cobb, WR
When you think of some of the great wide receivers of the Aaron Rodgers era, names like Davante Adams, Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, and James Jones come up.
Randall Cobb is right there with them.
Cobb is one of Rodgers’ all-time great targets, regularly making plays when the Packers needed them most.
He has made 532 catches for 6,316 yards and 47 touchdowns in 130 regular-season games for the Packers in his career.
Great teammates and friends, could the Rodgers-to-Cobb connection continue elsewhere?
Cobb could retire this offseason, but like with Marcedes Lewis, it wouldn’t be a surprise if his future is linked to Rodgers’.
If Rodgers gets traded to the New York Jets or Las Vegas Raiders, maybe he can convince Cobb to join him. I’m sure his future team would be more than happy to sign Cobb to a one-year deal if it’s what Rodgers wants.
As a complementary option in the passing game, a player capable of making plays at crucial moments, and also a great leader in the locker room, Cobb has a lot to offer.
Like a number of Packers, Cobb’s future is uncertain.
But would it be a surprise if he joins Rodgers in 2023, wherever that may be? Absolutely not.
