3 mock trades the Packers could pull off in 2025 NFL Draft

The NFL free agency period hasn't exactly been filled with eye-popping moves by the Green Bay Packers.

They've made some, but Brian Gutekunst will do most of his damage through the 2025 NFL Draft. The Packers haven't historically made splashes in free agency, although last year's was a bit different.

Still, Green Bay is going to need a strong draft to fill some holes that haven't been addressed during free agency. And, as is the case many years, the Packers could be involved in some draft-day trades.

Where could Green Bay look to add more value in the draft, by way of either prospect or capital? Let's break down a few possible scenarios.

The Packers could move up for an edge-rusher currently falling down draft boards

In many mock drafts, you're starting to see a pair of pass-rushers fall. Whether it be Georgia's Mykel Williams or Tennessee's James Pearce Jr., those are the two Green Bay could be targeting with a trade like this.

The likes of Abdul Carter (undoubtedly) and Shemar Stewart could go ahead of them and, for each of their own reasons (Williams for a slower 40 time and Pearce for character concerns), either one of them may be there for the taking. If they are, Green Bay should follow a similar proposal to this one and move up a few spots with Tampa Bay.

Might Green Bay take advantage of a desperate, QB-needy team starting to panic?

Let's assume we've already seen Cam Ward go No. 1 to the Titans and Shedeur Sanders is off the board at No. 23 overall. The Browns could be getting spooked, at this point, by other teams potentially wanting to draft a quarterback like Jaxson Dart out of Ole Miss or Alabama's Jalen Milroe.

Should the Browns start to get antsy -- let's be real, they're taking Abdul Carter No. 2 overall -- then maybe the Packers could take advantage. Moving back 10 spots in a draft full of similar talent at picks 25-50 isn't all that bad. Plus, the Packers get an extra third-rounder.

Cleveland knows they have to right a longstanding wrong. Green Bay could be of service.

The Packers could give Jordan Love his No. 1 wide receiver in Round 1

There are many mocks and top prospect lists that have Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka lower than the 23rd overall prospect, but I'll stand on the hill that he could be the most gifted receiver in this class. And, I typically don't bet against Ohio State wide receivers.

Josh Jacobs has been vocal about this offense needing a top wide receiver. Fans know it to be true. Why not just ensure it happens? This is a small price to pay if Egbuka is still on the board. Moving up just two spots to make sure you get him over a wide receiver-needy team like the Chargers is a wise move.
