5 players Packers should go out of their way to pick on Day 3 of 2026 NFL Draft

The Green Bay Packers managed to land two boom-or-bust prospects that will help give their defense a much higher ceiling with their pair of Day 2 selections in the 2026 NFL Draft. By using a second-round pick on athletic South Carolina cornerback Brandon Cisse and a third-rounder on powerful Missouri defensive tackle Chris McClellan, the Packers have addressed some of their weak spots.

As Day 3 approaches, Green Bay is still in the market for one more star secondary player, a pass-rusher, and some added depth on the offensive line after an offseason dominated by many of their better players parting ways with them.

These five players should not have lasted until the final day of the draft, and all of them profile as tremendous Packers if Brian Gutekunst pulls the proverbial trigger.

5 players Packers must target on Day 3 of 2026 NFL Draft

5. Dametrious Crownover, OT, Texas A&M

Crownover has to be feeling left out after seven Aggies, including fellow offensive linemen Chase Bisontis and Trey Zuhn III, were selected before Day 3. With solid bulk and some nice tape against premium athletes, Crownover may be able to convince teams like Green Bay that he has starter potential.

4. Joshua Josephs, EDGE, Tennessee

Teams were likely scared of Josephs' relative lack of production despite his immense athletic gifts. The Packers can end his slide while giving him a steady diet of snaps to work out his troubles during his rookie season.

3. Keionte Scott, CB, Miami

It is genuinely baffling that Scott, who was a nickel star who powered a loaded Hurricanes defense this season, wasn't picked in the Top 50, let alone the top 100. With great speed and versatility, Green Bay should be able to overlook the fact that he is an older prospect.

2. Mike Washington Jr., RB, Arkansas

Packers fans may not want to see another running back, but the combination of Washington's brilliant size/speed combination and their pre-draft interest in him could lead to a selection. He should have minimal trouble winning the No. 2 running back job.

1. Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee

McCoy went from someone rumored to be a lock for the top half of the first round to out of the top 100 picks due to his past injury history and rumors of an even worse medical concern in the future. At a certain point, the talent will outweigh the risk, and the Packers can land a Top 10 talent for cheap.
