The Green Bay Packers likely won't make any major splashes at the NFL trade deadline. They've already accomplished that by sending their next two first-round picks to the Dallas Cowboys for Micah Parsons. However, they could find a bargain or two.
It's all about value. The Packers have less draft capital to work with following the Parsons trade, but if they can improve their roster at a fair price, why not?
Green Bay would benefit from help at cornerback and defensive tackle, and we can likely add tight end to the list following Tucker Kraft's season-ending injury.
Potential last-minute trade deadline targets for the Packers
Rasul Douglas, CB, Dolphins
The Dolphins are clear deadline-day sellers, having already moved pass-rusher Jaelan Phillips for a third-round pick.
Green Bay should call about Rasul Douglas. A reunion makes so much sense for everyone. The Dolphins are in free fall and will likely lose Douglas when his contract expires in the offseason. The Packers need cornerback help, and he could compete for a starting job on the outside.
There's no real financial risk, as Douglas is playing on a one-year deal worth $1.57 million. He is quietly having a bounce-back season in Miami and could give the Packers a short-term fix at an area of need.
Cor'Dale Flott, CB, Giants
According to Easton Butler of Packer Report, the Packers have called the Giants about cornerback Cor'Dale Flott. A call doesn't mean a trade will happen, but it would make sense for the Packers if the Giants are open for business.
Flott, a third-round pick in 2022, is quietly having an excellent season. Per PFF, he has allowed a completion percentage of just 53.8 percent, with quarterbacks completing only 21 of 39 passes for 246 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception, with a 62.6 passer rating when throwing his way. His coverage grade ranks fifth among all cornerbacks.
Jackson Powers-Johnson, OL, Raiders
Green Bay's offensive line has been an issue all season. Second-year Jackson Powers-Johnson could surprisingly be available, and the Packers should make a move.
Not only could Powers-Johnson help the offense in the short term as a plug-and-play guard, but he is also a perfect candidate to become the next starting center in 2026. The second-year lineman is an excellent run blocker and a capable pass protector. At just 22 years old, the best is yet to come.
T'Vondre Sweat, DT, Titans
The Packers' lack of interior defensive line depth has become a problem, especially when Devonte Wyatt missed time. Now, Colby Wooden is hurt. Second-year T'Vondre Sweat is receiving trade buzz, and if the struggling Tennessee Titans make him available, it would make sense for the Packers.
Sweat has two sacks in four games this season and is an excellent run defender. He would immediately strengthen the interior defensive line and give the Packers the missing piece they need after losing Kenny Clark and T.J. Slaton.
David Njoku, TE, Browns
Green Bay may consider a short-term fix at tight end following Tucker Kraft's injury. Cleveland Browns veteran David Njoku makes sense as a half-season rental. He is in a contract year and falling out of favor in the Browns' offense due to the emergence of Harold Fannin Jr. Njoku is a reliable receiving threat and has a ton of experience.
Zach Ertz, TE, Commanders
The Commanders may look to move on from several veteran players after falling to 3-6 and losing star quarterback Jayden Daniels indefinitely. Zach Ertz is on a one-year, $6.25 million contract. The 34-year-old can still play, having caught 31 passes for 291 yards and four touchdowns this season.
Michael Mayer, TE, Raiders
None of these tight ends is a perfect replacement for Kraft, but they could all help fill the void. Michael Mayer is another. The Raiders selected Mayer seven picks before the Packers took Luke Musgrave in the 2023 NFL Draft, and the Packers had met with Mayer in the lead-up.
He never developed into a star, and Brock Bowers has become the guy in Las Vegas, but Mayer would be a solid addition to the Packers' offense. The veteran can do a bit of everything and would provide some depth alongside Musgrave.
