We're all just living in Aaron Rodgers' world.

His actions spark reactions across the league. The Pittsburgh Steelers are at the center of the storm, having patiently waited on Rodgers' decision. The four-time MVP broke his silence during an episode of The Pat McAfee Show, but he still hasn't made up his mind.

Rodgers' indecisiveness may cause short-term pain for the Steelers, but it will play right into the Green Bay Packers' hands.

Pittsburgh must consider alternatives.

"I've been up front with (the Steelers) about that," said Rodgers. "I said, 'Listen, if you need to move on, if you need to do something, by all means. Nothing but love and respect.' But there's been no deadline, and I've talked to Mike (Tomlin) many times."

Considering the NFL Draft is *checks notes* just days away, it's fair to assume the Steelers may need to "move on" to other options.

And it's possible no team will benefit more than the Packers.

The latest draft intel suggests the Steelers love Oregon defensive lineman Derrick Harmon. Steelers insider Andrew Fillipponi noted that Harmon has "emerged" as the favorite for Pittsburgh at No. 21, only two picks before Green Bay hits the clock.

Aaron Rodgers' delay could help Derrick Harmon fall to the Packers in first round

Rodgers' decision (or lack thereof) could change that.

Quarterback is becoming an increasing need in the Steel City, and many believe Pittsburgh could go in that direction in the first round. That includes CBS Sports' Josh Edwards, who has a dream scenario playing out in his latest NFL mock draft.

Instead of selecting Harmon at No. 21, the Steelers opt for Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Edwards goes as far as to say that "Pittsburgh is still being held hostage by Aaron Rodgers."

Two picks later? You guessed it. The Packers land Harmon.

While this is only one of hundreds (or thousands) of mock drafts out there, Edwards isn't alone in this thinking. The Steelers have a talented roster but desperately need a quarterback. Their current depth chart features Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson, and remaining free agents beyond Rodgers include Carson Wentz, Easton Stick, and C.J. Beathard.

Drafting a quarterback wouldn't stop them from adding Rodgers after the draft, either, and they may have a hard time passing on Sanders if he falls that far.

Even if Sanders is gone, other quarterbacks, including Alabama's Jalen Milroe, could interest Pittsburgh. It would potentially need to make a move before the division rival Cleveland Browns, who also need a quarterback.

It could clear the path for Harmon to fall into the Packers' lap at No. 23.

Talk about a perfect fit. The Packers wouldn't need to reach for a position of need — in this scenario, value and need would meet. Harmon is an outstanding run and pass defender. Per Pro Football Focus, no interior defensive linemen in the FBS had more pressures than the Oregon star in 2024. Harmon would also fill the void in the run game left by the departing T.J. Slaton.

All it takes is one team to love his potential and take him before the Packers, but the Steelers are likely the biggest threat in the first 22 picks of the draft.

Rodgers' delay increases the Steelers' need at quarterback and could force them to target the position early. That could take Harmon off their radar, allowing him to fall to No. 23.

Sounds good to us. As I said, we're all just living in Aaron Rodgers' world.
