A week ago, during the Pittsburgh Steelers' win over the New England Patriots, Aaron Rodgers made a little NFL history by throwing the 509th regular-season touchdown pass of his career, hitting DK Metcalf for a 12-yard score in the second quarter to break himself out of a tie with none other than Brett Favre to take over solo fourth place on the all-time list. He also added No. 510 in the 21-14 victory.
And on Sunday, in the Steelers' 24-21 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, which marked the first-ever regular-season game played in Ireland, the longtime Green Bay Packers signal-caller again made some NFL history, actually doing so twice on one play.
Early in the second quarter, with Pittsburgh holding a 7-3 lead, Rodgers hit Metcalf on a quick slant on a first-down toss from his own 20-yard line, and Metcalf did the rest, outrunning the Minnesota secondary and ultimately finding the end zone for an 80-yard score.

As such, Rodgers has now thrown 91 passes that have gone for 50 yards or more during his career, thus breaking himself out of a tie for the most all-time with Drew Brees, who had 90 such tosses during his 20-year career with the then-San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints.
The play also represented Rodgers' 60th career touchdown pass against the Vikings, making him only the second quarterback ever with at least 60 TD passes against multiple franchises. The four-time NFL MVP has also thrown 64 against the Chicago Bears, a number he'll look to add to when he makes his final visit to Soldier Field in Week 12.
The only other quarterback to throw at least 60 touchdowns against multiple teams is, of course, Tom Brady, who did so against all three of his longtime rivals in the AFC East, those being the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets.
Obviously including his touchdown to Metcalf, his only TD toss of the day, Rodgers put on a fantastic overall performance against Minnesota, completing 18 of 22 passes for 200 yards with no interceptions to earn a 119.7 passer rating in the 24-21 victory.
One would assume the 10-time Pro Bowler was playing this game with a little extra motivation.
For starters, he's had more losses throughout his career against the Vikings than any other team, taking 11 defeats against Minnesota while with the Packers and another a season ago as a member of the Jets.
And let's not forget that, before signing with the Steelers, Rodgers was actually hoping to take the full Favre career path by joining Minnesota, a proposition the Vikings rejected, as they opted to move forward with young J.J. McCarthy, who missed his second straight game on Sunday with a high-ankle sprain. So, this served as a bit of a revenge game in a way.
Rodgers now owns an 18-12-1 record against the Vikings in the regular season, picking up an additional victory in the postseason following the 2012 campaign when the Packers picked up a 24-10 win over Minnesota in the Wild Card Round.
