This past weekend couldn't have gone any worse for the Green Bay Packers. At this point, we know all the reasons why. There is no need to do a deep-dive into the collapse on Saturday night. All there is to do is move forward.
But, that's where the big question lies. Who do the Packers move forward with at quarterback, going into Week 17, against the Baltimore Ravens?
Jordan Love was knocked out of the game against the Chicago Bears due to a concussion. Meanwhile, backup quarterback Malik Willis injured his shoulder late in that game as well.
On the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter gave the latest on Green Bay's quarterback situation:
"The Packers have a situation where Love is still in protocol, Malik Willis banged up his shoulder. Now the good part is, I don't expect them to go sign a quarterback, which tells you that at least one of those guys should be able to go on Saturday."
Well, even though there is still some uncertainty, it looks like the Packers have a good chance of seeing one of their two competent quarterbacks take the field against Baltimore.
Adam Schefter just gave Packers fans the hope they needed
Schefter reiterated that he does not believe the Packers are going to make a move at the position:
"They have Clayton Tune on their practice squad, if one of them can't go, and obviously he'd be the backup for Green Bay. But it sounds like, they're not going to make another move for a quarterback."
He went on to talk about a team like the Kansas City Chiefs, who just saw Gardner Minshew go down with a knee injury, noting that they may very well have to go out and make a move in their quarterback room now that both he and Mahomes are out. And, while Minshew avoided an ACL tear, he'll still miss time.
The Packers' situation is not as dark, though. Whether it's Love or Willis, Green Bay is likely to have one of their top two quarterbacks on the field against the Ravens who, ironically enough, may not have Lamar Jackson.
After Jackson went out with a back injury on Sunday Night Football against New England, he didn't return. And now, it looks like he could miss Saturday's contest.
The quarterback injuries are wild, right now, around the league. But, Packers fans can be hopeful after this latest update from Schefter.
