For years, now, it's been a staple of Green Bay Packers fandom to laugh at the expense of the Chicago Bears.
It's what comes natural. And, even though the Packers have seen their share of recent backlash due to comments made by Josh Jacobs, it was the Bears who stole back the attention just a day later.
This offseason, one must admit the Bears made an impressive hire when they somehow landed former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as their next head coach. Johnson does have a different energy about him.
Maybe, his presence and leadership will allow this rivalry to be, well, a real rivalry again.
While Johnson may have been a good hire, the Bears did go through an extensive process before making their decision. Interviewing just short of 20 candidates for the position, Chicago cast a wide net, as they said they would.
However, within that process, the Bears interviewed one particular coach who got a chance to see an early portion of the team's draft strategy. And, in what could only be described as a total Bears move, that candidate seemingly leaked part of their 2025 NFL Draft strategy.
Eddie George revealed a Bears target for the 2025 NFL Draft
It came as a surprise to just about everyone when the Bears interviewed former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George to be their next head coach. He was not on the radar of any fans, nor was he likely on the radar of the Chicago media.
In a recent podcast interview, George was asked about Ohio State running backs Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson. His reply could have gone a variety of ways, but he chose to leak some Chicago intel.
"I can say that when I interviewed with the Bears, we talked about personnel, we talked about needs, and his name was definitely on that board," George said of Judkins.
More Packers
Well, that could end up saying a lot about the Bears' offseason plans as a whole. Currently, they have D'Andre Swift under contract but might be looking at renovating the running back room if Judkins is a target.
Not only that, but Judkins is likely a Round 2 or Round 3 pick and would come in as someone competing for the starting job in Chicago. Does that mean the Bears will end up parting with Swift after just one season?
In any event, this is just plain comical. Leave it to the Bears to be a team that sees a coaching candidate leak information about their draft board. Was George just not thinking? Did he not care, since he wasn't able to land the job?
Regardless, this is hilarious.
