Davante Adams' comments about Jordan Love add fuel to Packers return buzz

I'm going to speak this into existence if it's the last thing I do.

There are a lot of things the Green Bay Packers need to do this offseason to make sure they don't get embarrassed in the Wild Card round again next season, but here's a fun fact: none of that matters.

Secondary? Who cares. Pass rushers? Overrated fad. There's only one thing that matters for the Packers over the next six months: getting Davante Adams back.

Adams' history in Green Bay speaks for itself, as does the fact that he has an uncertain future with the New York Jets.

His stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and Jets went exactly how you'd expect stints with the Raiders and Jets to go, and now he's in that stage of an NFL career where you're just kinda looking for a team that, you know, wins more than five games.

That works out nicely for the Packers, who probably will win more than five games next year (*nervous laughter*). It also works out nicely for them because they're in desperate need of a star wide receiver. We love a good reunion arc. And given how Adams talked about Packers' QB Jordan Love on his recent appearance with Kay Adams, it seems like that's exactly where we're headed.

Davante Adams sure does have a lot of nice things to say about Packers QB Jordan Love

Adams went on the Up & Adams show and spoke about Love's playoff performance.

"From what I saw, obviously he didn't have the greatest go at it out there," Adams said. "I still believe in him as a player. I don't think one game can define you. Obviously that's how the playoffs go. It's more cut-throat. You don't have as much room to mess around as you do the regular season, where you can just evaluate the numbers."

"The way that the playoffs go, it doesn't really matter what you did statistically. It's more about if you won the game or not. And if you played better and the loss came because of the defense not closing it out or something like that, obviously you'd get a little more grace from the fans, the outside world, the organization, whoever it is. But not playing well and not getting the victory is going to put you in a tough spot. But like I said, I still believe in him."

Well, I'm sold. I think we can officially book it: he's coming back. He still believes in him! So much that he said it twice! Would you say that about an NFL QB that you didn't want to play with? Yeah? He would? OK, well, whatever.

You can either choose to believe that beloved franchise icon Davante Adams is coming back to Green Bay to finish his career, or he's going to go play for, like, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or something. Tell everyone you know – it's happening.
