Davante Adams pretty much admits he was wrong all along about the Packers

When Davante Adams left, everyone just kinda accepted it. Aaron Rodgers was gone, and the idea of Adams going home to play for his childhood team certainly wasn't some new narrative. It just felt like the right time for both sides to go their separate ways, which doesn't happen a whole lot in the NFL.

Since then, Adams has gone on to carry some bad Raiders teams, while the Packers have retooled their offense and found some young wide receiver talent.

The winning hasn't exactly been there for either side, but that's life in the Patrick Mahomes era. Adams – who's going to be able to control where he goes this offseason – is on the back nine of his career, and while doing his weekly hit on Kay Adams' morning show, he spoke with, dare I say, a hint of nostalgia about his former team.

Davante Adams sure has a lot of nice things to say about the Packers

Kay Adams asked how the Packers keep winning despite losing key players like Davante, Aaron Rodgers, and Aaron Jones.

"Winning organizations learn how to figure it out," he said. "They were good before I got there, and they'll be good long after I'm gone. So it says a lot about their ability to bring the right guys in. And obviously the discipline that it takes to win is tough. And not that it's perfect every year, but to be a really solid team over the course of, you know, a decade or more? That's really tough to do. So I've got a lot of respect for the front office over there, and obviously all the players that have contributed."

HMMMMMMMM. That sure is a lot of nice sentiment about a team he's no longer employed by! He has a lot of respect for the front office over there. I don't doubt that's true, but it probably doesn't hurt for those quotes to find their way onto the front page of the internet right before Adams' offseason begins. Just sayin'.

It's particularly notable considering Adams admitted that transitioning from Rodgers to Jordan Love factored into his decision to leave.

"At the time when I was, I hadn't necessarily seen enough to say this is for sure what I should do. But in hindsight, the kid is a f------ baller, man, I'm so happy for him," Adams said in April. "I don't regret what I did, but at the same time, you look back and you're like, damn, that boy is kind of balling right now."

Turns out, the grass might be greener when it's frozen for 75% of the season. Of all the Jets veterans who may be interested in finding a new team for the last few years of what was once an illustrious career, the Packers can do a whole lot worse than Adams.
