The Green Bay Packers need to add help to their defensive line for the 2025 season and the draft looks to be the best way for them to do that. It shouldn't come as a surprise to see mock drafts linking the Packers to a defensive lineman considering how big the need is, especially with T.J. Slaton departing in free agency.

In the latest mock draft roundup, the Packers snagged the same player in two mocks and stayed on defense with the third mock but a different player/position. Defense appears to be the obvious pick for the Packers when they're on the clock with the 23rd pick.

Packers expected to bolster defense in 2025 NFL mock draft roundup

Sports Illustrated: Kenneth Grant, DL (Michigan)

Gilberto Manzano of Sports Illustrated had one of the two mock drafts for this roundup where the Packers took Kenneth Grant with their first-round pick. Manzano likes this pairing because "Grant gives the Packers plenty of depth on the inside with Kenny Clark and Devonte Wyatt." Hard to argue with that.

CBS Sports: Kenneth Grant, DL (Michigan)

Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports also likes the idea of Kenneth Grant landing in Green Bay toward the end of the first round. His reasoning was similar to Manzano's, noting, "The Packers stop Grant's slide to give the defense another big body beyond veteran Kenny Clark."

Packers fans would probably be thrilled if Grant managed to fall to the Packers at 22. He'd fill a position of need and would be a steal for them at this point in the draft.

NFL.com: Mykel Williams, EDGE (Georgia)

Chad Reuter of NFL.com still had the Packers addressing the defensive side of the ball but with Mykel Williams instead of Kenneth Grant. Reuter pointed out that the Packers have liked drafting players out of Georgia early on and said that "Williams should be next in line because of his 34-inch arms and athleticism, even though the Packers will likely need to move up for him in Round 1."

While the Packers could definitely use some help when it comes to their pass rush, Williams' injury concerns might scare some fans off. Draft Sharks says there's a 79.7% chance that Williams could get injured in 2025 and projects him to miss roughly three games due to injury. That might be a gamble the Packers don't want to take and no one would blame them for that.
