The Green Bay Packers bravely fought against the despicable Tush Push in the offseason, and they may finally get their wish for the play to be Brotherly Shoved out of the league.
Nobody should like it. The Tush Push is boring, the Philadelphia Eagles repeatedly get away with false-start penalties when using it, and, according to the Packers, it's a player safety risk. At least that's what they've said publicly (we'd argue it's just pettiness, but that's totally fine too).
The Eagles used the Thursday Night Football stage to rub the Tush Push in everyone's faces, but it may have backfired. Not only did they lose the game, but they also handed the league every bit of evidence needed to ban it.
Tush Push reaches absurd new levels, but it may play into the Packers' hands
The Packers were vilified for daring to stand up to the Tush Push and mocked when their proposal failed. Now, the league is waking up to the reality.
Philadelphia has turned the play into a joke. On Thursday night, the Eagles ran four consecutive Tush Push plays, eventually finding the end zone. It was ugly to watch, but more importantly, it made a mockery of the rule book, as the refs missed blatant false-start penalties from the Eagles' linemen.
There's a reason why the NFL introduced the forward pass. It made the game far more exciting than its distant cousin, rugby. The Eagles are proving that point a million times over.
If the NFL insists on keeping the Tush Push, they'd better find a way to enforce the rules. Clearly, it's not that easy, and it's why the Eagles may have sealed their cheat code's fate.

Running it four straight times turned Thursday Night Football into a snooze-fest. Fortunately, the rock-and-roll play of Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo led the New York Giants to victory, but it may not be the only loss inflicted on the Super Bowl champions.
The Eagles got their way with the Tush Push voting in the offseason — and delivered a not-so-subtle shot at the Packers in the process — but they took it to absurd levels in Week 6.
The Tush Push has become a joke, and the Eagles are practically begging the league to do something about it. Now, they may finally have to. Enjoy it while you can, Philly, because this may be the final season of the ugliest play the game has ever seen.
Green Bay may get the last laugh, after all.
