After the playoff loss to the Chicago Bears, rumors surfaced that the Green Bay Packers could move on from head coach Matt LaFleur. However, they made it abundantly clear that they believe he's the right man to lead them to the promised land when they gave him a multi-year extension.

Now, LaFleur will be tasked with proving his team's trust is misguided, which won't be a walk in the park when you take into account that the Packers have the dubious distinction of collapsing at the worst possible time since he became the head coach in 2019. Compounding the issue is that Green Bay will have to pick its moments to spend in free agency, even after restructuring Xavier McKinney's deal.

In fact, the Packers could lose several players, and it will be up to general manager Brian Gutekunst to address the larger-scale roster. With this in mind, here's a look at where things stand ahead of free agency.

A downside of the Micah Parsons trade is that the Packers had to invest draft capital and a substantial amount of cap space. And without premium resources, they could have trouble re-signing their own players before free agency starts, with quarterback Malik Willis at the top of the list.

After an unremarkable stint with the Tennessee Titans, Willis showed in limited action last year that he can be a viable starting quarterback. Following his intriguing albeit limited sample, he's slated to cash in big in free agency.

Aside from Willls, linebacker Quay Walker, wide receiver Romeo Dubbs, and left tackle Rasheed Walker are the most notable players who could leave Green Bay on the open market. Running back Emanuel Wilson doesn't have the same kind of name recognition, but he's also trending toward testing free agency. And if he leaves, Gutekunst will need to find an RB2 behind Josh Jacobs.

Green Bay is projected to release center Elgton Jenkins and pass-rusher Rashan Gary (even if he claims his social media accounts were hacked).
