Insert the Michael Scott GIF right about now. "It's happening!"
Okay, we're not quite sure what exactly is happening at this very moment. But, former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh was, indeed, spotted at the Green Bay Packers practice on Wednesday afternoon.
You read that correctly. This is not a drill, nor a joke. It actually happened. Just go ahead and see for yourself.
Just a short while after being fired by the Jets, Saleh didn't take long to return to an NFL practice field. But, the question is, why was he there?
Was Saleh just visiting an old friend now that he has some time off? He and Matt LaFleur go way back and were in each other's weddings, so this isn't too surprising. However, one can only wonder if this is LaFleur calling in one of his buddies to try and bolster the staff en route to a postseason run.
After all, the NFC North looks like an absolute war zone right now, and the Packers would likely welcome the help from Saleh in conjunction with defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.
Prior to being fired by the Jets, Saleh had that New York defense no. 2 in the league in yards allowed. You're telling me he was the problem?
Sure, go ahead and keep telling yourself that if you believe it to be true.
Meanwhile, if the Packers hired Saleh in some capacity, they'd be getting one of the best defensive minds to help out the no. 10 defense in scoring through seven weeks. Could LaFleur bring on Saleh as merely a defensive consultant?

You have to believe the head coach would create a position, regardless of title, in order to welcome a close friend and fantastic football mind onto the staff. At least, that's what many fans are already thinking.
As you might assume, Packer fans saw the video of Saleh at practice on social media and reacted accordingly.
Packer fans went crazy on social media after seeing Robert Saleh at practice
That's one way to put it. Never stop being petty. It's too much fun.
Yes, indeed, Orlando. Robert Saleh in Green Bay.
Play the music!
Some might just react in tears of joy. That's justifiable.
And we are already creating his future title ... has a nice ring to it.
That about sums it up. This sure would be a home run hiring.
You're echoing the entire fan base with that one.
