The Green Bay Packers needed all the way until game time to make a decision, but star running back Josh Jacobs is available and will play in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Jacobs drew a questionable tag on the injury report due to an illness and a calf injury, although it was the latter that put his status in jeopardy. However, after a pre-game workout, the Packers have determined that the All-Pro running back is good to go.

The Packers had real concerns over his status, as they promoted Pierre Strong Jr. to the gameday roster on Saturday. Strong is officially inactive, though, another sign that Jacobs is ready for a heavy workload.

Josh Jacobs is active for Packers' game against Cardinals in Week 7

The Packers will have their star running back out there in a crucial game against the Cardinals.

However, if he isn't at 100 percent, it won't be surprising if we see more action from backup Emanuel Wilson. He is the clear RB2 in this offense when Jacobs isn't on the field, while Chris Brooks could also see some additional opportunities. But with Jacobs active, we can assume he will continue to take on the bulk of the workload.

Here are the Packers' inactives for Week 7:

  • K Brandon McManus
  • RB Pierre Strong Jr.
  • G Donovan Jennings
  • T Anthony Belton
  • TE Ben Sims
  • DL Lukas Van Ness
  • DL Devonte Wyatt

Cornerback Keisean Nixon is also active despite being questionable due to an illness. However, the Packers will miss kicker Brandon McManus for the second straight week.

It has been a chaotic buildup to the game. Along with the injury uncertainty, their travel to Arizona faced a five-hour delay on Saturday. Hopefully, they can put that behind them and pick up an important win.
