It sure sounds like Davante Adams wishes he still played for the Packers

Interesting!

It's a big travel week, which means a lot of time spent on interstates and train stations and standing in front of their airport gate even though their flight doesn't board for 35 minutes – it'd be a bummer not to have anything interesting to think about during all the downtime over the next few days.

But that's another problem for another fanbase, because Green Bay Packers fans were gifted a doozy of a conspiracy theory on Tuesday.

In Davante Adams' reliably bloggable weekly segment on Kay Adams' morning show Up & Adams, the New York Jets wide receiver was asked what it's been like to watch Packers quarterback Jordan Love develop over the past few seasons.

He answered with a pretty straightforward quote, but where's the fun in focusing on that? If you open your heart to the idea that Davante Adams might be playing the hits again, it becomes a much more interesting, rewarding thought exercise.

Davante Adams sure does have a lot of praise for Jordan Love

"Just how poised he is," Adams said. "He's just like, the calmest quarterback in the league. You don't see him get too frustrated. Guy drops a ball, or guy gives up a sack, or he throws a pick and makes a mistake, you just see him real chill and cool, calm, and collected. He goes back and looks at the iPad, and goes out there and turns it around. It hasn't seemed like they've been out of a lot of games. Even when they're down, you've seen him lead his team back."

"And even if it hasn't been J. Love, they have a couple guys over there that have been having a good year so far, so yeah, it's good to watch him and see his growth," he added.

Look, I really didn't want to buy into his answer as any sort of actual signal to other teams or maybe one very specific team, but that last line got me a little. They have a couple guys over there!

Now it's a quote about the Packers in general. Now we are cooking. If the rumors about the Jets' interest in maybe cutting Aaron Rodgers before the season ends are actually true, what'd stop them from doing the same for Adams?

Anything worth doing is worth doing well. Then a quick call from Josh Jacobs would be all it'd take. I'm not saying it's going to happen. But it probably will.
