The battle between Jaire Alexander and Stefon Diggs started in the pregame warmups.

Their rivalry dates back to Diggs' run with the Minnesota Vikings and continued when the Green Bay Packers met the Buffalo Bills two years ago. There are always fireworks when these two share a field, and they wasted no time getting into it in Week 7.

The Packers found a way to win despite turning the ball over three times, requiring a game-winning drive led by Jordan Love and capped off with a Brandon McManus kick to defeat the Houston Texans. The win keeps the Packers in the playoff positions in a competitive NFC.

Alexander also got the last laugh in the latest chapter of his rivalry with Diggs.

Jaire Alexander and Packers defense shut down Stefon Diggs in Week 7

There's something about playing for the Vikings that brings the best out of Alexander. He has a longstanding rivalry with current Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson, and Jaire has enjoyed great battles against Diggs, who began his career in Minnesota.

But the Packers' All-Pro cornerback has had his way. Per PFF (h/t Brandon Carwile of Packers Wire), entering this game, he had only allowed three catches for 21 yards in his career against Diggs.

And Alexander's dominant run against his former division rival continued on Sunday. Green Bay's defense shut down Houston's explosive offense, allowing just 197 yards of offense, including 86 through the air to C.J. Stroud.

Diggs caught five passes for 23 yards. That's it.

Green Bay sacked Stroud four times, put him under constant pressure, and allowed just 10 completions on his 21 passes. While Houston found some success on the ground, it was a dominant performance from Jeff Hafley's defense, who continue to level up each week. Without the defense, there's no way the Packers would've won this game.

Diggs talked plenty of trash before the game but couldn't back it up.

Alexander didn't speak postgame, but he didn't need to. His performance on the field was more than enough. He got the last laugh, and the defense led the Packers to an important victory over one of the best teams in the league.
